Man and a Van Ealing Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man and a Van Ealing in respect of the financial year ending 31 December 2025. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and throughout our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man and a Van Ealing is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws on modern slavery and human trafficking. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, human trafficking, child labour that is exploitative or illegal, or any related abuse of human rights.
This commitment applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf, including employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where non-compliance is identified.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man and a Van Ealing provides local and regional removals and transportation services. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and materials suppliers, recruitment and labour agencies, and various professional and facility service providers.
We recognise that modern slavery risks can arise at multiple tiers within these supply chains, particularly where temporary labour, low-skilled work, or outsourced services are involved. We are committed to proactively identifying and managing these risks.
Policies and Governance
Our approach to preventing modern slavery is underpinned by internal policies and procedures that are communicated to all relevant staff. These include our zero-tolerance policy on modern slavery and human trafficking, our code of conduct setting out expected ethical standards, and our commitment to fair recruitment and equal opportunities.
Managers are responsible for implementing these policies within their teams and ensuring that any concerns are escalated without delay. We review our policies periodically to ensure they remain effective and aligned with legal and industry best practice developments.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold the same high standards. Before entering into or renewing contracts, we conduct proportionate due diligence to assess the risk of modern slavery. This may include requesting information on labour practices, reviewing modern slavery statements or policies, and evaluating the use of subcontractors and temporary workers.
Where we identify higher risk, we may carry out more detailed assessments, request supporting evidence of compliance, or require the supplier to complete a self-assessment questionnaire. We reserve the right to conduct audits, either directly or through appointed third parties, to verify that suppliers meet our requirements. If an audit or review reveals non-compliance, we will seek corrective action within a defined timeframe, and where appropriate, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We provide appropriate training and guidance for managers and staff whose roles involve recruitment, supplier management, or frontline operations. Training covers the definition and indicators of modern slavery, how to respond to suspected cases, and the importance of responsible procurement practices.
We aim to build ongoing awareness of modern slavery risks, encouraging staff to remain vigilant, challenge poor practices, and raise concerns promptly and responsibly.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man and a Van Ealing encourages anyone working for us or with us to report concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking, whether in our business or in our supply chains. Concerns can be raised confidentially with a line manager or a senior member of management.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated where appropriate, and addressed promptly. Where needed, we will cooperate fully with relevant authorities and support any necessary remedial actions.
Monitoring, Performance and Annual Review
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to tackling modern slavery. We will monitor the effectiveness of our measures through regular review of supplier assessments and audits, feedback from staff training, and the number and nature of reported concerns and resulting actions.
This statement and our underlying procedures will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the risks in our operations and supply chains. We will update this statement where significant changes occur in our business structure, supply chains, or relevant legal requirements.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man and a Van Ealing, who take overall responsibility for ensuring its implementation and ongoing effectiveness.
